The City of Myrtle Beach is home to many beautiful and engaging works of public art. Home to nearly 30 murals, 20 sculptures, and and 10 art galleries, Myrtle Beach is committed to bringing world-class art to its citizens and visitors.  There is tremendous opportunity and appetite for more, and the City is taking steps to ensure we grow the presence of public art.

Myrtle Beach’s Cultural Resources Committee is seeing applicants for the city’s new Poet Laureate!  Appointed by Council, this two-year position will be the poetic voice of Myrtle Beach, working to promote cultural heritage, literacy, and creative writing among residents of all ages.  Duties will include appearances at civic events, schools, community centers, and libraries.  For a full list of requirements, submission directions, and an application, Click Below:

The Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance in collaboration with the City of Myrtle Beach and the Cultural Resource Committee seeks artists for public art projects which will be presented throughout Myrtle Beach's Downtown core. With these works, we hope to continue enlivening and adding meaning to public spaces in order to honor, celebrate and bring awareness to important aspects of Myrtle Beach’s rich history, culture, and people.
